Description

The Volumetric Pipette Class AS from Osmosis Scientific is engineered for laboratories requiring the highest levels of accuracy and traceability. Manufactured in accordance with Class AS standards, this pipette is designed to deliver exact volumes within tight tolerances and features a specialized “S” (Swift) delivery, combined with a 15-second waiting time to ensure maximum volumetric precision.

Calibrated to ASTM / USP Class AS standards crafted from premium Boro 3.3 borosilicate glass, the pipette offers outstanding chemical durability and thermal shock resistance. Each unit is individually serialized and supplied with a Work Certificate for traceable quality assurance, making it ideal for pharmaceutical testing and USP-compliant research. The permanent amber enamel print not only enhances the readability of volume markings but also makes the pipette easy to handle and clean in diverse laboratory settings.

Available in capacities ranging from 1 ml to 100 ml, this pipette is optimized for consistent flow rates and minimal liquid retention. Its robust construction ensures that the glass remains inert even when exposed to aggressive reagents, maintaining the integrity of your analytical results over time.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What does the "S" in Class AS stand for?

The “S” stands for Schnell (German for “fast”). While standard Class A pipettes have a longer delivery time to ensure accuracy, Class AS pipettes are designed with a slightly wider tip opening. This allows for a faster delivery of liquid while maintaining the strict accuracy tolerances of Class A.

What is a "One Mark" pipette?

A “One Mark” or Bulb Pipette is calibrated to deliver a single, fixed volume. Because it only has one graduation mark, the potential for user error in reading multiple lines is eliminated, making it more accurate than graduated pipettes for specific volume transfers.

What material is used by Osmosis Scientific?

These pipettes are manufactured from High-quality Borosilicate 3.3 glass. This provides:

    • Exceptional resistance to chemical erosion and acids.
    • High thermal shock resistance.
    • Permanent, high-contrast markings that remain legible after years of use.
How should I use a Class AS pipette to ensure accuracy?
    1. Fill: Use a pipette filler to draw the liquid above the mark.
    2. Adjust: Set the meniscus at the graduation line at eye level.
    3. Deliver: Allow the liquid to flow into the receiving vessel with the tip touching the side wall.
    4. The 15-Second Rule: Once the main flow stops, wait for 15 seconds before removing the pipette. This allows the liquid film on the inner wall to drain completely.
    5. Do Not Blow Out: These are calibrated “To Deliver” (Ex). The small drop remaining in the tip is intended to stay there.
