Description

The Mohr Graduated Pipette Class A from Osmosis Scientific is engineered for laboratory professionals who require exact volumetric control for routine analytical tasks. Unlike serological pipettes, the Mohr design features graduations that end before the tip, ensuring that the measured volume is delivered between the graduation marks without the need for “blowing out” the final drop.

Manufactured in accordance with ASTM E-1293 Class A standards, this Mohr Pipette is designed to deliver exact volumes within tight tolerances and is supplied with a batch certificate for traceable quality assurance. Each instrument is crafted from premium Boro 3.3 borosilicate glass, which provides the exceptional chemical durability and thermal shock resistance necessary for rigorous laboratory use and repeated sterilization cycles.

The durable amber enamel print ensures that volume markings remain permanent and highly legible, even when exposed to aggressive cleaning agents or autoclaving. Available in capacities from 1 ml to 25 ml, these pipettes are color-coded for rapid identification in busy laboratory environments. The Osmosis Scientific Mohr Pipette is an ideal, cost-effective solution for pharmaceutical, clinical, and industrial research facilities focusing on high-accuracy liquid handling.

Note: For outsourced or certified products, Osmosis Scientific acts as a supplier and distributor. Certification validity, calibration accuracy, and traceability are the responsibility of the original manufacturer or issuing certification body. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between a Mohr and a Serological pipette?
    • Mohr Pipette (This model): The graduation marks end above the tip. You must stop the liquid at the last graduation mark to deliver the intended volume.
    • Serological Pipette: The markings extend all the way to the tip, and the last drop is usually “blown out.”
    What does "Class A" signify?
Class A indicates the highest accuracy class for volumetric glassware. These pipettes are manufactured to the strict tolerances defined by international standards like ISO 835. They have a specific delivery time and a longer “waiting time” than Class B to ensure the liquid film drains completely and accurately.
    Are the markings permanent?

Yes. Our pipettes feature high-contrast amber or blue enamel graduations that are fired into the glass surface. They are designed to withstand repeated cleaning cycles and exposure to common laboratory chemicals without fading.

How do I correctly deliver liquid with a Mohr pipette?
    1. Fill: Draw the liquid slightly above the zero mark using a pipette filler.
    2. Adjust: Set the meniscus at the zero mark (or your starting point) at eye level.
    3. Deliver: Allow the liquid to flow into the receiving vessel.
    4. Stop: You must stop the liquid flow exactly at the desired graduation mark.
    5. Note: Never drain the liquid into the ungraduated tip area, as this volume is not calibrated.
Are these "To Deliver" (TD) or "To Contain" (TC)?

These are calibrated “To Deliver” (Ex/TD). This means the volume delivered between any two graduation marks is exactly what is indicated, provided the liquid is allowed to drain under gravity.
