Description

The Graduated Serological Pipette Class A from Osmosis Scientific is engineered for analytical laboratory tasks where precise volume delivery is essential. Unlike standard mohr pipettes, the serological design features graduations that extend all the way to the tip, allowing the user to blow out the final drop for total volume delivery.

Manufactured in accordance with ASTM E-1293 Class A standards, this pipette is designed to deliver exact volumes within tight tolerances and is supplied with a batch certificate for traceable quality assurance. Each instrument is crafted from premium Boro 3.3 borosilicate glass, ensuring superior resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion.

The durable amber enamel print not only enhances the readability of the volume markings but also makes the pipette easy to handle and clean in diverse laboratory settings. The markings are designed to remain permanent and legible even after repeated autoclaving and exposure to aggressive cleaning agents. Available in capacities from 1 ml to 25 ml, these pipettes are a reliable choice for pharmaceutical research, clinical testing, and industrial quality control.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between a Serological and a Mohr pipette?
    • Serological (This model): The graduations extend all the way to the tip. These are typically “blow-out” pipettes, meaning the last drop must be expelled to achieve the full rated volume.
    • Mohr: The graduations stop before the tip. You must stop the liquid at the last marking.
What does the double ring at the top mean?
Most serological pipettes feature two small frosted or etched rings near the top. This is the international symbol for a “Blow-out” pipette. It indicates that the small amount of liquid remaining in the tip after gravity drainage must be blown out (using a pipette bulb) to deliver the total volume.
How should I handle these for maximum accuracy?
    • Draw liquid slightly above the zero mark.
    • Wipe the tip with a lint-free tissue.
    • Adjust the meniscus to the desired starting line.
    • Deliver the liquid by letting it drain against the side wall of the receiving vessel.
    • Expel the final drop if the pipette is marked with the double ring (Blow-out).
Do these come with a certificate?

Yes. Class A Unserialized pipettes are supplied with a Batch Calibration Certificate. This document confirms that a representative sample from the manufacturing lot was tested and met the required Class A specifications.

What standards do these comply with?

They are designed to comply with applicable international standards such as ISO 835 or equivalent ASTM specifications for graduated pipettes.
